Description
Some leads are for one week of the year. This is the one you reach for on a Tuesday. Honey Meadow is butter yellow and white stripe with embroidered bees, honeypots and wildflowers, and it is bright enough to lift a grey morning walk without looking like a costume.
It earns its place through the details you only notice after a few weeks. The handle is padded neoprene rather than bare webbing, which matters on the hand that holds it for forty minutes while a small dog stops at every interesting smell. The clip swivels, so when your dog does three laps of a tree the lead untwists itself instead of slowly coiling into a spring.
The measurements
The Cocopup London standard lead is 152cm long and 2cm wide. That is full walking length, giving a smaller dog room to range ahead and sniff while still leaving you a comfortable amount of lead in hand.
Specification
- 152cm long and 2cm wide
- Padded neoprene handle
- White swivel clip for the collar or harness ring
- D-ring at the base of the handle that a poop bag holder clips straight onto
- Butter yellow and white stripe with embroidered bees, honeypots and wildflowers
Is it strong enough for my dog
The honest answer depends on the dog. Cocopup London says outright that this is not a heavy duty lead and that the range suits smaller breeds and lighter use. For a small or medium dog who walks nicely it is lovely. For a large dog who throws their weight into the lead, it is the wrong tool and you want something built for pulling instead.
Washing
Pale colours and muddy paths are not natural allies, so it is worth knowing this washes properly. Wash at 30 degrees in a wash bag to keep the clip from battering the machine, then hang it to dry.
Honey Meadow runs through the wider range, so pairing it with a harness in the same print is the natural next step, and that handle D-ring exists for a poop bag holder. Other prints are in the lead collection.
