Description
Some dogs genuinely look like small bears, and if yours is one of them, Teddy Rupert was made for you. The fabric has a soft, fluffy teddy texture rather than a flat printed finish, so the lead matches the dog instead of arguing with them, and it is the one people reach out and touch when you are standing at the cafe.
Soft does not mean unfinished. The handle is padded polyester, which spreads pressure across your hand on the sort of walk where a young dog stops every four metres and you take a small tug each time. The black swivel clip rotates freely, so when your puppy does three laps of your legs at the park gate, the lead unwinds itself instead of shortening into a twisted rope. The D-ring sits at the base of the handle, where a poop bag holder can hang without knocking against your knuckles.

Will it hold my dog?
Here is the part worth reading before you add to cart. Cocopup London states that this is not a heavy duty lead, and that the range suits smaller breeds and lighter use. For a puppy, a small dog or a well mannered medium dog, it is a lovely everyday lead and it will do years of service. For a large dog who leans hard into the lead and lunges at things, it is the wrong tool, and we would far rather you knew that on this page than found out at the dog park.
Washing
Fluffy fabric picks things up, so wash it at 30 degrees in a wash bag to keep the clip from catching the pile, then hang it to dry. No tumble dryer.
Teddy Rupert has a collar to go with it in the collar range, and since that handle D-ring exists purely for it, a clip on bag holder finishes the setup. Browse everything Cocopup in the dog range.
