Hikari Gold M is the medium pellet size in the Hikari Gold range, a floating daily diet for koi and other pond fish through the warmer months, suited to established fish rather than young stock.
Floating pellets are the sensible choice in a pond for a practical reason: you can see the fish. Koi feeding at the surface are koi you can count, inspect for damage or ulcers and assess for condition, and any food they leave is easy to skim off before it sinks into the bottom muck and adds to the nutrient load that feeds string algae. Feeding at the surface also means uneaten pellets are noticed rather than quietly rotting.
The blend is chosen to build natural colour intensity over a season, with added vitamins and minerals to support immune health while the fish are growing. Feed daily through warm weather, only as much as the fish clear in a few minutes, and taper off as the water cools and their appetite and digestion slow down.
