Description
Catfish, eels, bichirs, freshwater sharks and stingrays all feed on the floor of the tank, and none of them do well on a floating food. Hikari Sinking Carnivore is a purpose built pellet diet for those bottom dwelling carnivores, formulated as a complete daily food rather than an occasional treat.
These pellets sink fast, which is the whole point. Slow swimming and nocturnal species tend to lose the race for food that sits at the surface, and by the time they get there the faster mid water fish have cleaned up. Food that drops straight to the substrate lands where these fish actually hunt, so they get a proper feed instead of scraps, and less of it is dragged into the filter or left to break down as ammonia.
Feed in the evening, since many bottom dwelling predators are most active after dark, and give only what is eaten within a few minutes. Watch what happens with sand or fine gravel, where pellets can disappear between grains, and use a feeding dish or tongs for larger specimens if food is going missing.
- Formulated for carnivorous bottom feeders
- Suits catfish, sharks, eels, bichirs and stingrays
- Fast sinking pellets reach the tank floor
- Designed as a complete diet, not a treat
- Helps slower fish compete for food
Surface feeding carnivores are better off on a floating stick, which you can find with more gear for your fish tank.
