Description
Fish need places to hide. A bare tank looks empty to us and feels exposed to the fish living in it, and shy species such as tetras, rasboras and juvenile livebearers spend far more time out in the open when there is cover to retreat to. The Pet Worx Silk Plant Bunch gives you that cover straight out of the packet, in 8 inch and 16 inch bunches and assorted styles.
Silk is the reason these read as convincing rather than obviously fake. Where hard plastic plants sit stiff and static, silk leaves are thin and light enough to drift with the filter outflow, so the bunch moves the way a real stem does and breaks up sightlines across the tank. You get the planted look without the lighting, fertiliser, trimming and algae management that live plants require, which makes them a sensible choice for a first tank, a quarantine or hospital tank where you want cover you can remove and disinfect, or any setup where the lighting is not strong enough to keep live stems alive.
Rinse the bunch in clean water before it goes in, never in soap. Anchor the weighted base into the substrate and bury it deep enough that it will not tip, and set taller bunches at the back and sides so they frame the open swimming space rather than filling it.
