Owners of big dogs know the drill: plenty of beautiful beds, none of them long enough. The Snooza Big Dog Bed is built the other way around, sized first for a large breed and then finished to look like furniture, with a two tone furnishing fabric base and a deep Chinchilla faux fur top.
Size guide
Sold in one size only, which Snooza labels XL on their own chart: 130cm (L) x 88cm (W) x 19cm (H). Snooza publishes no breed or weight guidance for this bed, so we have not printed a suggested breed list here. Go by your dog's measurement instead, using the method below. As these are soft goods, treat the figures as close approximations.
How to choose your size
With a single size, the only question worth answering is whether your dog fits with room to spare. Measure them from nose to base of tail while they are lying on their side, fully stretched out, then add roughly 15cm to 20cm for the space they take up shifting around overnight. Compare that to the 130cm length. This is a flat pillow bed with no bolster wall, so the whole 130 x 88cm surface is usable sleeping area, which is exactly what a sprawler wants: a dog who sleeps flat out on their side with their legs extended needs the full width, not just the length. A dog who curls tight will use far less of it, though at this size they will never be short of room. If your dog is closer to medium than large, a smaller bed will suit them better and cost less.
The reason this bed is worth the money is the foam. There are 5cm of memory foam over a 14cm load bearing Australian foam core, 19cm in total. Memory foam matters because it conforms to the shape pressed into it, which spreads a dog's weight across the entire contact area instead of letting it pile onto the few bony points that touch down first. On a hard floor or a thin mat, the hips, the elbows and the points of the shoulders carry almost all of a heavy dog's weight for hours at a stretch, circulation through the tissue over those joints drops, and the dog gets up stiff and slow. That effect scales with bodyweight, which is why it shows up earliest in big breeds and in older dogs. The 14cm core underneath stops the memory foam bottoming out, so a 40kg dog still floats rather than sinking to the floor.

Where it is not the right choice: deep faux fur traps heat, so a dog who already stretches out on tiles in January will be happier on a cooling mat or an elevated hammock. It is also an indoor bed, and plush pile is not the surface to put in front of a dedicated chewer.
