Description
First, the thing that confuses everyone: "Husky" is a colour, not a size. The variant names read "Medium/Large / Husky" and "Large/Extra Large / Husky", and the only difference between them is the size at the front. Husky is Snooza's name for the fabric colourway, the alternative being Silver. It has nothing to do with the breed and nothing to do with how big the bed is.
Size guide
| Variant as listed | Size | Colourway | Dimensions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Medium/Large / Husky | Medium/Large, the smaller of the two (Snooza's L) | Husky | 105cm x 77cm x 20cm |
| Large/Extra Large / Husky | Large/Extra Large, the larger of the two (Snooza's XL) | Husky | 118cm x 87cm x 19cm |
Both sizes are compound: each spans two conventional bed sizes rather than being a straight Medium or a straight Large. Snooza publishes a single combined recommendation covering both of them, listing L/XL as the size for large dogs such as a Boxer, Retriever or Dalmatian and for giant dogs such as a Mastiff, Great Dane or Rottweiler. That one recommendation applies across both sizes here, and we have not split it into two per size claims that Snooza does not make.
How to choose your size
Since the published breed guidance does not separate the two, the measurements are what decide it. Measure your dog nose to base of tail lying stretched out on their side, then add about 15cm to 20cm and check that against the length. The 13cm of extra length and 10cm of extra width in the Large/Extra Large is real room, not a rounding difference. This is a retreat shape with raised sides, so the outer figures include the wall and the flat sleeping area inside is smaller than the numbers above. A dog who curls will be happy in the Medium/Large and will spend the night pressed into the side. A dog who sprawls flat with their legs out should take the Large/Extra Large. If your dog measures between the two, go up.
The reason this bed suits an older dog is the base. Underneath the plush is an Australian made orthopaedic foam cushion, and foam like that spreads bodyweight over the whole contact area rather than letting it load onto the hips, elbows and shoulder points that carry it on a hard floor. Hours of that concentrated pressure is what leaves an arthritic or ageing dog stiff when they get up. The raised sides do a second job for nervous dogs, who settle faster with a wall to lean into than in the open.
- Australian made orthopaedic foam base cushion, with a non slip underside

- EcoFresh anti allergy fill, approved by the Asthma Council and machine washable
- Cold gentle machine wash at 20C to 30C, line dry; no tumble drying, bleach or dry cleaning
- Foam is spot clean only
- Two sizes, both in the Husky colourway
This is the indoor twin of the Ultra-Tuff Retreat. Same retreat shape, plush finish instead of weatherproofing, so keep it inside: faux fur and an outdoor run are a poor match, and the Ultra-Tuff version exists for that job. It is also not the bed for a chewer. For an indoor dog who likes being enclosed, or an older one who needs the pressure taken off their joints, it is the most comfortable thing in the range. Shop the complete bed range to compare retreat, sofa and pillow styles.
