Description
This is a 4cm foam mat, not a hammock cover. It will not fit over a raised bed frame and it is not a replacement sling. It is a flat, portable cushion that goes wherever your dog needs padding: inside a crate or kennel, in the back of the ute, on a floor that is too hard to sleep on, or laid on top of an existing raised bed for extra softness. Size it to your dog and to the space it has to fit into.

Superior Pet publishes no maximum dog weight for this mat, so we have not listed one. Go by length and by the space it has to sit in.
How to choose your size
Measure your dog nose to base of tail while they are lying stretched out on their side, then add 15 to 20cm so they are not hanging off the end. Because the mat is a flat rectangle with no raised sides, the whole surface is usable, so compare your figure straight against the length in the table. A dog who sprawls out needs that full length and the wider option; a dog who curls up tight can sit comfortably on a shorter mat but still wants the width. If it is going inside a crate or kennel, measure the floor of that space first and take the largest mat that fits flat without buckling at the edges. Laying it on a raised bed? Match the mat to the frame size, since the mat measurements line up with the sleeping areas across the Superior Pet range. Between two sizes, go up.
Why put it on a raised bed
A mat on its own is padding. A mat on a raised frame is padding plus everything an elevated bed gives you: the dog sits clear of hot concrete in summer and cold, damp ground in winter, air moves underneath so heat does not build up in the bedding, and they stay out of the wet and off hard surfaces that press on elbows and hips. If your dog already has a hammock bed and just wants something softer, this is the layer to add.
What is inside
The fill is durable Australian Dunlop foam treated with Ultra-Fresh, which resists mould, and the foam is Asthma Council approved. Over it goes a lightweight, breathable poly-cotton cover in camo, which unzips completely so you can machine wash it at 40C with mild detergent. Do not bleach, iron or dry clean it; cool tumble dry only. The foam itself is spot cleaned rather than washed. Being able to strip and wash the cover is what keeps a dog mat usable long term, particularly one that lives in a kennel or goes camping.

Who it is not for
Be clear about what this mat does not claim. There is no flea treatment, no UV treatment, no water resistance and no chew resistance on this product. It is not a weatherproof outdoor bed and it is not for a dog that destroys bedding. If your dog lives outside in the weather or chews, you want a hammock bed with a flea-free or canvas twill cover instead. This mat is for comfort in a sheltered spot and for taking with you.
If you need something built for weather rather than comfort, see the rest of our bed range.
