Description
Tetra Betta Larva Sticks are floating sticks shaped to look like the insect larvae a wild betta would hunt, in a 5g tub. They suit bettas and other labyrinth fish such as gouramis.
Bettas are predators by habit. In the wild they patrol just under the surface and strike at larvae and small insects, and a fish kept in a bare tank on the same pellet twice a day gets very little chance to do any of that. The larva shape matters because it triggers the strike, which is why owners of fussy bettas often find a fish that has been ignoring its food suddenly interested again. The sticks float, so they stay in the strike zone rather than sinking away from a fish that feeds looking upward, and they are made from natural ingredients with no artificial colourants or added preservatives.
Key details
- Larva shaped sticks that prompt natural hunting behaviour
- Floating, so the food stays where bettas feed
- Natural colour enhancers for stronger fin and body colour
- Complete food for bettas and other labyrinth fish
- No artificial colourants or added preservatives
- 5g tub
Feed only a few sticks at a time and lift out anything not taken within a few minutes, since leftovers decay and lift ammonia in a small betta tank fast. Good used alongside a staple such as Tetra Betta Granules for variety across the week. See the rest of the fish and aquarium range for tanks, heaters and conditioners.
