Description
Tetra Pleco Tablets are a sinking food for herbivorous and shy bottom dwellers: plecos, Siamese algae eaters, gobies and whiptail catfish. Supplied in a 36g pack.
Bottom feeders are usually the last fish in the tank to get fed properly. They are slow, cautious and often only confident after dark, so by the time they come out the flake has been taken by faster fish at the surface. These tablets sink straight down and then release slowly rather than dissolving on arrival, which gives a nervous pleco or a goby time to find the food and graze at its own speed. The recipe leans on plant proteins because these species are largely herbivores, and spirulina algae adds colour support that suits fish which would naturally be scraping algae off wood and rock all day.

Drop a tablet in after lights out if your bottom feeders are timid, and remove anything untouched the next morning so it cannot break down and lift ammonia. Do not rely on algae in the tank alone: a clean, well maintained aquarium often has too little left to sustain a pleco. Pair with a staple flake for fish higher up, and browse more bottom feeder and aquarium supplies.
