Description
Tetra PRO Pleco Wafers are an all vegetable sinking wafer for plecostomus and other bottom feeding fish, in a 150g pack. They work either as a staple diet for herbivorous catfish or as a vegetable supplement alongside whatever else you feed.
The reason the wafer format exists is simple. Plecos feed on the floor of the tank and graze slowly, rasping at a surface rather than snapping at food in open water. Anything that floats or breaks up on the way down gets taken by faster fish long before it reaches them. These wafers sink, hold together and give a pleco time to work through one properly. Inside, an extrusion process bonds a concentrated algae centre into a balanced staple, so a single wafer carries both the vegetable matter a herbivore needs and the broader nutrition of a complete food. A high fibre, easily digested recipe suits a gut built for plant material, and fed as directed the wafers will not cloud the water.

Feed only what your bottom feeders clear over a few hours each day and remove anything still sitting there afterwards, since decaying food drives ammonia. Not a food for surface feeders on its own. Explore more catfish and aquarium supplies for the rest of the tank.
