Description
Tetra TetraBits Mini is a staple granule food for small bodied and juvenile tropical fish, in a 35g tub. Think nano tank residents, young growing fish and the smaller community species that struggle with normal sized food.
Particle size is not a detail, it is the whole point. A young or small fish has a mouth measured in millimetres, and a standard flake or granule is simply too big to take in. The fish nips at it, gives up, and the food sinks past uneaten to rot in the substrate, which is why fry tanks fed on adult food so often show poor growth and rising ammonia at the same time. A finer particle can be swallowed whole, so growing fish get a steady intake through the day rather than occasional scraps. These granules also sink slowly, and that drift through the water is what triggers a feeding response in top and mid water species, which naturally chase moving food.
